Voici une petite présentation de quoi est fait l'editing d'une chanson de l'album "Lithium":

Comme vous pouvez le  constater sur la photo suivante, toutes les pistes d'enregistrement de tous les instruments incluant la voix plus les effets additionnels, sont transformés en waves. Elles sont de couleurs différentes pour mieux les dissocier entre elles mais aussi pour ne pas perdre la tête en regardant l'écran!

Ces waves peuvent ensuite être traités avec tous les outils possibles et inimaginables comme compresseurs, analyseurs de waves, effets sonores etc... permettant de les transformer afin qu'elles gagnent leurs couleurs définitives!

Comme vous pouvez le constater vous même ce processus peut être long car il dépend du nombre de waves par chanson mais aussi de ce qu'on en fait avec!

Ce petit aperçu est là pour vous, pour montrer le travail que nous sommes en train de faire sur les chansons de l'album afin qu'il soit homogène, percutant et surtout à la hauteur de nos attentes!

Voici un sujet qu'il est souvent difficile d'aborder que peuvent être les maladies dégénérantes!

Ces dernières semaines les chaines de télévision abordent divers sujets sur ces maladies! Une retient particulièrement mon attention: celle du Locked IN syndrome ou le fait d'être prisonnier de son corps qui se raidifie totalement. Le seul moyen de contact avec le monde extérieur reste l'oeil ou le battement de paupières!

 Même si la science fait des progrès extraordinaires dans tous les domaines qui touchent à la neurologie etc... cette maladie est terrifiante! Imaginez vous ... Vous n'avez aucune maladie particulière sauf le fait que lentement votre corps perd sa mobilité, sa fléxibilité et de jour en jour vous vous retrouvez enfermé de votre enveloppe charnelle! Le reportage sur le sujet était époustouflant et m'amène à la réflexion suivante: Il y a que très peu d'artistes, musiciens ou compositeurs qui ont développé et exprimé leur art en subissant au jour le jour un handicap sévère. Il y a bien sûr quelques exceptions!

Dans cette période de création que je vis, surtout depuis le décollage du ballon aérien qu'est REEL, cette vision d'une vie alternative est effrayante! Tout en compatissant pleinement avec les personnes qui subissent ce handicap il m'est terrible d'imaginer cela ...ou tout autre événement qui amènerait un handicap inhibant la possibilité de jouer de la musique!

Aujourd'hui et surtout avec le développement de REEL pour sa partie musicale, eh oui il y a encore beaucoup de choses additionnelles prévues comme chansons, vivre un tel événement serait terrifiant. Nous les artistes oublions souvent la chance que nous avons d'être en santé (pour ceux qui abusent de la boisson bleue ou du jardin de pâquerettes ma foi ils assument ...) et de pouvoir vivre pleinement notre rêve de créativité musicale!

Well well well right now I feel like I have a rocket in my back as many things come into the roll with the finalisation of the album! It is just crazy! The album is not even finished that you have already to think about so many things in order to make it available at best for all of you readers and fans of REEL. The process is ongoing! Also as soon as you have a solution to a question, pop! a new one appears! Right now it is just rock and roll pure! I feel like a throttle rocker with bombastic lithium power up my ...

Already many people I know and are around the band ask me when is the album ready ... Everybody wants to hear it ... wants to discover the musical world of REEL. It is true that the entire team of REEL WEB tried to give the best inside news, the best first overlook of what the REEL world is and will be in the near future!

We are working on so many things such as CD production, CD distribution, Live events, Communication and getting to know us more and more through all available medias! It is tough to organise all but I have to say we are getting there and the day we will be able to launch and inform accordingly it will be incredible!

Spreading REEL music worldwide is a challenge and we are up to the task!

As already informed, next weekend we are putting the final touch on the main mix. The album will take its upmost definitive colour and sound! Then we will go into the mastering process! Another 2 weeks of full REEL rock throttle action ahead of us!

We are getting there! The craziest part is that we are already discussing, planning, taking into account the next steps and of course the next musical steps!

Hier fut une grande journée de travail sur le fameux livret et la version définitive de la pochette pour l'album "Lithium". Un travail long et fastidieux mais qui sera à la hauteur de nos espérances.

The artwork of the album is going straight forward. Also the booklet comes into its final stage of preparation before the final choice that will be made soon! It is a long process with some difficulties especially in the decision making process!

Les informations suivent dès que possible! Ceci est une période où le travail en coulisses foisonne vitesse TGV et comme nous sommes dans la dernière ligne droite tout se précipite maintenant pour vous donner le meilleur album possible!

Infos will info right here! As you might know everything comes now at the same time. It is like a hurdle race entering the last straight line in order to produce the best album possible!

Avant le cocktail soit parfait, avant que le mix final de l'album atteigne son apogée, il est nécessaire de réécouter minutieusement toutes les bandes, toutes les pistes enregistrées pour clairement définir la sélection définitive!

Before the final mix, it is necessary to listen to all tracks recorded and search for mistakes etc ... This is a very long process! Takes hours and hours of listening in order to be sure that no mistakes enter the final mix!

Ce processus est lent et fatidieux, il consomme beaucoup de temps et ne présente pas grand intérêt pour vous les fans! mais il doit avoir lieu pour offrir la meilleure qualité possible pour le mix final!

Mixing is like blending - If you put a rotten fruit in your blender then the cocktail will be disgusting and we want to avoid that in order to give you the best quality mix ever!

Listen to the music and let your body rock! Some togh work right now but all members of the band go through it and give their best!

Tout le monde se donne à fond dans cette dernière ligne droite avant le gros moment du mix!

The circus is in town!

En effet le Cirque du Soleil était de passage dans la région avec son nouveau spectacle Dralion. Un show absolument superbe, à ne pas manquer sous aucun prétexte!

DO NOT MISS IT!

La qualité principale de ce cirque est de mêler émotions visuelles & émotions sonores. Un très grand mélange entre les numéros d'artistes, de la musique rock (ou du moins à tendance rock) plus un show visuel digne du nom. Les artistes savent tout faire ce qui rend le spectacle encore plus exceptionnel!

Very intense show indeed! Great artists - The numbers are just fantastic high in color!

Cette année le cirque a donné la priorié au cirque chinois! Les rois de la torsion, des sauts et autres jongleries! Epoustouflant! Breath taking!

When you are thinking about your future live show which will be the case of REEL, you look for ideas on what you can do on stage in order to offer your best to the public! Well the Cirque du Soleil is a great aplce to learn a lot!

Really and go and see the show! Ne ratez pas ce spectacle unique!

Well ... well ... well ... here is some INSIDE news from the last session that took place on September 22nd.

6 songs are edited regarding the vocals parts: heat of the action, echoes, who's behind the door, another day and rythms of life. The process was very interesting and quite "easy" as the vocal parts are not too long on these songs and we had many takes available to be able to cut the best the vocal lines possible!

Editing was just great!

Pat then came in and did some additional keys parts on all songs. On reel music the job done is just brilliant - You will be blasted! on it never rains he overdubbed the guitar solo giving you the feel we played it live together! Technology is brilliant and Pat a real pro!

4 songs to go and then the real mix takes place and all will definately come to life! All sounds already great and the mix will make it even greater! A bombastic album "Lithium" will be! We can't wait to hear it! So imagine it! Soon available!

Hello to all the english speaking people that are hooked on www.reelmusic.ch!

This is the first note written in english to those people who want to know more about REEL Band & Music.

It is a small but hopefully a very good summary about what REEL is about, what we do and where we are going!

REEL came to life back in the old days. A school band formed by BENE, Dominique, Olivier and Thomas. During those crazy school years, REEL became a known band in its region with many songs written and many shows played. In 89/90 the first single "streets of my dreams" was recorded, distributed and sold about 2000 copies. The band then separated for personal reasons. During those years BENE played in some bands but REEL was his place to be. A couple months ago, during the recording of the single "J'rêve" for a swiss french singer called Marilyn, BENE met some great artists which accepted to play on what would be the very first album of REEL. Jay, Jul and Patrick are session musicians playing in various bands and became since some months now members of REEL for the recording of the album "Lithium" which is due for release by end of October, start November. No defined date yet and it will depend on too many things for the moment!

The web site started in the french language to give the basis to all potential fans! REEL WEB will add, in the future many more news in english but also in German and Italian, making it the only official place to be for all the international fans to have the right information and latest news!

Under REEL SONGS, you will find the lyrics of the album, you will find some music samples giving you already a clear picture of the forthcoming album.

Under REEL BAND, you will have the chance to have a deeper look in the musicians with a small presentation of BENE, JAY, JUL and Patrick

Under Albums photos, you will get a INSIDE look of what is going on in the studio during the recording of the album!

Under REEL NEWS, you will find the evoluating news of the band and the ongoing process of creativity of the album!

Many of the information notes, the title of already in english in order to provider a certain look and feel to the site!

Even if the band is swiss based, the music has a strong international approach! REEL is going into that direction in order to bring its music to as many fans as possible.

Suite aux visites effectuées ces derniers jours et à la découverte de nouvelles formes d'art, la leçon essentielle retenue est que sans créativité, sans pouvoir avoir son esprit libre de toutes contraintes, rien ne peut exister ... sans cette liberté, sans cette indépendance, RIEN n'existe!

N'est pas le souhait de tout artiste de pouvoir accomplir et de travailler son art en toute indépendance? Dominion n'est que la réponse à cela!

Trop d'artistes restent coincés dans ce moule existentiel et ne produisent finalement que de la matière inerte! Par contre aller au bout de son processus créatif n'est ce pas cela source de dérives? La ligne est fine ... très fine!

REEL ira toujours dans cette direction là. Celle qui défendra no matter what sa musique & ses paroles, sans concession et sans retenue. REEL doit être ce véhicule d'expression libre qui permet à la musique écrite, créee d'exploser librement, fougeusement sans limites! NO limits! oui cela est la véritable façon de voir les choses! Pouvoir exprimer librement ce qu'on ressent, ce qu'on pense, ce qu'on à dire, ce que l'on croit, en quoi on croit!

Il n'y a pas de secrets ... Pendant ce long moment d'attente que représente la finalisation d'un premier album, les idées existentes et nouvelles fusent sans arrêt ... sans limites ... cela est aussi enivrant que déroutant ... le processus de création est totalememt libre! Il est stimulé au plus haut point ... Cette sensation est unique!

Le travail artistique sera mené comme un vrai combat pour n'offrir que le meilleur! Chaque morceau tel un tableau de maître aura sa propre histoire, sa propre existence - Jamais une chanson ne sera une pâle copie d'une précédente! ... Le processus de créativité sera poussé au maximum pour nous apporter le plaisir le plus intense du travail accompli. 

Un artiste "Dominion" sera capable de défendre son travail, son oeuvre, son fruit par n'importe quelle manière, devant n'impore qui ... Il laisse le public seul juge de ce qui lui est présenté! REEL possède cette attitude et quelque part son public attend de découvrir ce que REEL est pleinement! sans retenue, sans limites, totalement librement!

Quelques paroles qui peuvent sonner pour une chanson plutôt blues rock. Un bon rythme accrocheur avec quelques guitares destroy!

La journée fut consacrée à la musique et à la composition ... La période est propice et il faut récolter ce qui sort de la guitare! Se sentir comme un un vrai BB rockeur n'est que pur bonheur ... Je joue un truc et hop quelque chose de totalement nouveau sort de la gratte - pur bonheur!

Vu l'heure tardive, ceci est un petit clin d'oeil aux internautes nocturnes!
